    Training is the process of improving seller skills, knowledge, and attributes to drive seller behavioral change and maximize sales success. To be most effective, sales training should be viewed, designed, and executed as a change management initiative.


Steps of “Work force training process”

            There are 6 major steps in “Work force training Process”. They are,

             1.  Assess sales training needs

              2.    Set training objectives

               3.  Evaluate training alternatives

               4.    Design sales training program

              5.  Perform sales training

              6. Conduct follow-up and evaluation


Recommended training methods for work force

On job training method

In here, the company can train the sales force while they are working in the company. This type of training would supply them the theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. Also, the sales force would understand what is the rea scenario rather than studying the theories. The knowledge that the management gives via this training process will help the people to achieve the targets and the other expectations of the company.

 




        Induction

Induction training is offered to new employees when they join an organization. In here, they get to know what are the specific skills that they have to develop. Especially, they would know how to deal within a difficult and tuff scenario. It can be introduced to colleagues and some of the policies of company such as holiday entitlement and absence procedure will be taught with in this training method. Also, it would be more healthy and scientific method. Through this the sales force would involve and get the knowledge of the company procedure, culture and its values.



        Audio-visual Oriented Training

 

It is a training or educational materials directed at both the senses of hearing and the sense. In another development Rather (2004) defines audio-visual materials as any instructional aids such as map, chart, models, projector, television and so on used in the classroom to aid learning and thereby making it easier and interesting to students to understand. The company can conduct a training programe and show the employees what are the trends of marketing in the modern word. Also, the position of the company in the industry, the market share that the company has and other important facts can be taught by this training programs.





Because of these, the employees can understand what is the effort that they have to keep on the targets. Also, the use of audiovisual aids makes the employees to remember the concept for longer period of time. They convey the same meaning as words but it gives clear concepts thus help to bring effectiveness in the training. Integrating technology into the training programs help employees to experience things virtually or vicariously.

 

 

        Management Games

This refers to the training method for managers. This form of training is based on an artificial environment that simulates the real situation in the management of the organization, whether it's planning, decision making, control, communications or management itself.

It is a dynamic training exercise utilizing a model of organizations in a workday environment. Major objective of these games is to enhance the eye for details, to improve analyzing skills, to enable quick decision making, to make students cooperative and team players, and to give them long lasting impressions of the subjects, which they have learnt during the training program.

        When considering the training processes for a workforce, it seems that the "On-job" training method would be more effective and more advanced. Because the employees can obtain the knowledge while doing their job. The most prominent advantage of this training method is, the company/management can observe the employee's effectiveness then and there. So "On-job" training could be recommended for all the kinds of employees
